The invention discloses an interface adapter and a Wishbone compatible cutting method and relates to SOC (system on chip) design and IP (Internet protocol) reuse design. The interface adapter at least comprises an isolation unit and a state machine unit, and the state machine unit executes skip operations among states during the whole cutting process according to main controller signals and signals of other units in the interface adapter and controls the isolation unit to clamp input/output signals of a slave unit of a wishbone interface in fixed values in different stages of cutting. The invention further discloses a Wishbone compatible cutting method. The interface adapter and the Wishbone compatible cutting method are applicable to SOC system design capable of cutting, low in power consumption, high in energy efficiency and plugging and playing, and SOC flexible configuration of heterogeneous multi-functional modules can be met.
