Title of Dissertation/Thesis:A Dual-Frequency Passive RFID System Design
Abstract:
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is one technology of Automatic Identification, which is used with alternative magnetic field to realize contactless communication. In the last several years, the applied field of RFID technology has been extended suipriseingly. This paper is my project when I was working in Tongfang Microelectronics Company. General Staff of PLA want to adopt RFID system on the management of storage. But unfortunate, their main storages were weapons and liquid, and this means that only the scheme of 13.56MHz active RFID is suitable under the requirment of performance. But the active RFID system is too expensive and short-lived in storage management. So we took up a new scheme to resovle it. As the main restrictions in the traditional RFID system is the distance between RFID reader and RFID tag and the power which tag acquires from electromagnetic coupling, and communication cosumes less power. In the paper, the RFID tag is power by 125KHz attena through coupling, and communicates under another channel which consump less power. The system is constituted of RFID tags, RFID reader, RFID attenas. The tag is composed by analog chip, digital chip and attenas. The tag has already taped out. We also complete the design of reader. The reader and tag both have 2 attenas under 125KHz & 13.56MHz. Because the power is sufficient for the tag, the system has a better performance in distance of realization than passive RFID system.
