Abstract:
This paper focuses on the key technologies of Cognitive Radio. A novel
detector is proposed to detect ATSC DTV signal as well as wireless
microphone signal for spectrum sensing. The performance of this detector is
verified by simulations based on simulated wireless microphone signals and
captured ATSC DTV signals. Simulation results show that the proposed
detector can detect ATSC DTV signal as low as -114dBm and wireless
microphone signal as low as -112dBm, and its performance is not sensitive to
noise uncertainty. The process of creating Primary User signal is discussed.
Furthermore, the structure of ATSC transmitter and the model of radio
channel are introduced in this paper. A frequency synthesizer is designed for
providing local oscillator signal in wide bandwidth, and it also can be used in
Cognitive Radio. A group of switch capacitors is introduced to the
LC-Oscillator and a multiplexer is designed to increase the tunable-bandwidth
of frequency synthesizer. The circuit is implemented in a standard 0.18μm RF
CMOS process and the test result is shown in this paper.
