Abstract：
An enhanced Wilkinson power combiner and an application thereof belong to the field of power amplifiers. The enhanced Wilkinson power combiner is characterized by consisting of a power combining part and an impedance converting part. A power amplifier consists of a driving amplifier module, two power configurable auxiliary power amplifiers and the enhanced Wilkinson power combiner. The auxiliary power amplifiers are driven by the driving amplifier, power is amplified for signals by the auxiliary power amplifiers, and the output power of the auxiliary power amplifiers is combined and output by the enhanced Wilkinson power combiner. The output power of the auxiliary power amplifiers can be configured by switches. Compared with the traditional Wilkinson structure, the enhanced Wilkinson power combiner has smaller area and fewer losses under the condition of reserving the port matching, isolating and other properties of the traditional structure. With circuits in the power combiner, the area of the power combiner can be reduced. The combining efficiency is improved so that the output power of the power amplifier is improved.
