摘要/Abstract:
An 110 GHz differential Colpitts VCO with a wide tuning range is proposed. The tuning range could be improved by adopting the switched coupled-inductor with detailed small signal analysis. Based on the proposed technique, a differential Colpitts VCO based on the switched coupled-inductor has been implemented in 65 nm CMOS, and the measured results show that the proposed VCO has two frequency tuning band, covering from 105.3 to 109.37 GHz and from 109.03 to 112.57 GHz, respectively. A phase noise of ¿90 dBc/Hz at 10 MHz offset with ¿8.2 dBm output power has been achieved. The core VCO consumes 22.9 mW from a 1.2 V power supply and only 0.06 mm2 die area.
