摘要/Abstract:
Automatic meter reading (AMR) technologies play an important role for smart grid. The architectures of physical layer and baseband circuits are proposed for a wireless AMR enterprise standard the most significant features of which are its coverage distance and power consumption potentially. All-digital baseband circuits for the wireless AMR application are designed and implemented in this paper. A novel Gaussian frequency-shift keying (GFSK) demodulator converting frequency offset in received signals to a DC component which is easy to be cancelled is also presented. The circuits are synthesized in UMC 1.8 V 0.18 μm process, and the results show that the chip consumes 82.97 μW of power and occupy 2.303 mm2 of silicon area. This baseband circuits meets the wireless AMR enterprise standard specifications, and would be integrated in a wireless AMR SoC in the future.
